KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE ) –The Anti-Corruption Court has granted Ambassador Herbert Kiguli cash bail of Sh10 million in a case in which he is accused of causing financial loss of Sh494 million to the Government of Uganda.
The court granted bail after Kiguli presented substantial sureties, who were ordered to execute non-cash bonds of Sh300 million to ensure that the accused returns to court.
Kiguli is expected to return to court on November 11, 2026, for mention of the case.
The 59-year-old diplomat, who serves as Consul General at Uganda’s Consulate General in Mombasa, Kenya, was arrested by the Inspectorate of Government on October 5, 2026, and remanded to Luzira Prison.
