KAMPALA, Uganda: Emirates has announced a series of aircraft deployments and product upgrades across its global network, including the introduction of its next-generation A350 on services to Entebbe, Uganda. The move extends the airline’s Premium Economy footprint and delivers a more consistent, enhanced onboard experience for customers.
From 29 March, flights EK729/730 between Dubai and Entebbe will be operated by the Emirates A350, marking the debut of the airline’s newest aircraft type in Uganda. The deployment forms part of Emirates’ broader fleet modernisation programme.
The Emirates A350 features three spacious cabin classes and accommodates 298 passengers, including 32 next-generation Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 generously pitched Economy Class seats.
As part of its ongoing retrofit programme, Emirates will complete the upgrade of its first high-density, two-class A380 by mid-April. The aircraft will be reconfigured into a three-class layout featuring 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats. The first upgraded aircraft will operate flights EK903/904 between Dubai and Amman from 14 April to 31 May, before transitioning to Prague on EK139/140 from 1 June. By November, the airline expects to have retrofitted all 15 of its two-class A380s into the new three-class configuration.
In addition to the A350 service to Entebbe, Emirates will roll out further aircraft upgrades across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.
In North America, flights EK201/202 to New York JFK will be served by a four-class retrofitted A380 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 2 March, increasing to daily service from 1 June.
In Europe, Emirates will operate a four-class A380 featuring Premium Economy on flights EK085/086 to Zurich from 1 March, offering more than 1,500 weekly Premium Economy seats to and from the Swiss city. In Italy, flights EK101/102 to Milan will be operated with a retrofitted three-class Boeing 777-200LR fitted with Premium Economy from 10 May. From 25 October, flights EK165/166 to Dublin will be served by a three-class retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR, ensuring all 21 weekly services to the Irish capital offer Premium Economy.
In Asia, flights EK392/393 to Ho Chi Minh City will operate with a three-class retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR from 1 May, increasing Premium Economy capacity to more than 600 weekly seats on the double daily service. Emirates will upgrade flights EK382/383 to Hong Kong from a Boeing 777-300ER to an A380 from 1 October, with a transition to a retrofitted A380 featuring Premium Economy from 1 December. Services EK362/363 to Guangzhou will also be upgraded from a Boeing 777-300ER to an A380 from 1 October.
In the Middle East, flights EK945/946 to Basra will operate with a retrofitted four-class Boeing 777-300ER from 1 May, introducing Premium Economy across all five weekly services.
In the Indian Ocean, flights EK709/710 to Mauritius will be operated with a retrofitted three-class Boeing 777-200LR from 29 March.
