Kampala, Uganda : Evelyn Mabirizi, daughter of the late Kampala business mogul Godfrey Mabirizi, has organised a wellness run and financial empowerment seminar to address the growing rise of lifestyle diseases and mental stress among girls and women in Kampala.
Dubbed “The Kampala Run,” the event will take place tomorrow, Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Hockey Grounds. It is a full-day experience designed to blend fitness, wellness and personal transformation.
Speaking ahead of the wellness event, Evelyn Mabirizi said the initiative is intended to empower young girls and women to prioritise their health and mental well-being.
“I want to empower people through health. When people don’t take care of their bodies, it slowly leads to chronic diseases, depression and burnout. Fitness is not just about shape — it is about owning your life again.”
Unlike ordinary marathons, Kampala Run is built around fitness of the body, mind, spirit and finances.
“We wake up early, rush through traffic, work the whole day and sleep tired. There’s no time to breathe, no time for family, no time for ourselves. That is not living. I want people to reclaim their strength, beauty and confidence,” Mabirizi emphasized.
The event will feature three themed segments, each targeting a different pillar of a fulfilled life.
The morning session dubbed ‘Diva Beauty Run and Seminar’ is designed for women who want to stay in shape, boost confidence and break free from stress and low self-esteem. It combines a fitness run with a mini beauty and self-worth seminar.
“As a single mother, I’ve battled depression. Many women suffer silently. Fitness and sisterhood are part of the healing,” she said.
The second segment dubbed ‘Believers Run and manifest Seminar’ welcomes people of all faiths, focusing on faith-driven motivation and identity.
“Whoever believes in God is welcome. When you know who you are, you stop chasing survival and start living in purpose,” she noted.
The final lap dubbed ‘Financial Freedom Run and mini wealth camp’ isn’t just physical — it’s about breaking financial stress and learning how to create income without losing health and peace.
“People spend their lives working from morning to night. I want to show them how to be financially stable, emotionally free and still have time for their health and family,” she explained.
For Mabirizi, fitness is the entry point to transformation not just of the body, but of mindset and lifestyle.
“We are building a community, not just hosting a run. I want people to find their identity, enjoy long life, feel beautiful, be fit, believe again and build wealth with peace.”
The first segment will run from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by the second session from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while the final lap will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All Ugandans have been encouraged to take part in this uniquely organized run, which goes beyond fitness to also promote financial inclusion and spiritual support.
