The victims have been identified as Asasira Shivani (30), the hotel’s manager, and Musinguzi Lawrence (about 27), a security guard attached to the same establishment.
According to preliminary police findings, the violence unfolded on February 7, 2026.
At around 10:00am, Shivani called the hotel’s owner, expressing concern that she could not locate the security guard and that his phones were switched off.
Less than two hours later, at about 11:30am, the owner attempted to return the call, but by then, Shivani’s phone was also unreachable.
Alarmed, the owner went to the hotel at around 3:00pm, where he made a grim discovery: both employees lay dead in separate rooms, each with stab wounds concentrated around the neck.
Police also established that a white Toyota Harrier, registration number UBH 633M, had been stolen from the premises, suggesting the attackers fled the scene using the vehicle.
The bodies have been transported to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations as investigators piece together the final movements of the victims and search for the killers.
Police say investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to identify, track, and arrest the suspects involved.
