KAMPALA-The curtains have officially closed on the Airtel BIKA 2025 Tournament with a dramatic final that crowned the Ngabi Nsamba clan champions, following a thrilling showdown against Ndiga at a packed Muteesa I Stadium in Wankulukuku.
In a highly anticipated clash between two of Buganda’s footballing giants, defending champions Ngabi Nsamba held their nerve to secure back-to-back titles in front of thousands of passionate supporters. The final delivered on all expectations, with both sides displaying immense resilience, tactical brilliance, and clan pride in what many have hailed as one of the most competitive BIKA finals in recent memory.
This year’s tournament format saw clans battle through elimination rounds up to the Round of 16, before being clustered into four groups for the quarterfinal stages. Ngabi Nsamba advanced to the final after edging out Kkobe in a tense penalty shootout following a goalless semi-final, while Ndiga booked their spot by overcoming Nsenene in similar fashion after a 1-1 draw.
The final proved a fitting climax, ending in a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Ngabi Nsamba ultimately triumphed 6-5 on penalties, securing the coveted title and the top cash prize of UGX 9 million. It marks their second consecutive title and reinforces their status as one of the tournament’s modern-era powerhouses.
Ndiga, valiant in defeat, took home UGX 7 million as runners-up. In the third-place playoff, Nsenene narrowly beat Kkobe 1-0 to claim the bronze medal and a UGX 3 million prize.

The final was graced by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, who applauded the high level of sportsmanship and used the occasion to inspire the youth:
