KASESE DISTRICT: Two males are held in custody charged with stealing a pig valued at 200,000 UGX and weighing approximately 15kgs, the two are currently detained at Kinyamaseke Police Station under Bwera Division in Kasese District .

The suspects , are Masereka Simon 16yrs, Bwambale Ezra 15yrs Old all residents of Kanyatsi East Cell, Mailo Kumi Ward , Kinyamaseke Town Council.

The pig is the property of Agaba Charles, resident of Musomoro North Cell, Kinyamaseke Town Council of Kasese District. Agaba Charles reported the theft to the Local Council which alerted Police at Kinyamaseke.

A highly trained Police dog was brought to the scene to aid in the Investigation leading to the arrest of the two male juveniles.

Nelson Tumushime SP Spokesperson Police Kasese has urged the community members to be vigilant because livestock theft is on the rise, noting that on 7th March 2025, Police at Kizungu in Kasese Municipality arrested Muhindo Moses charging him with stealing more than 20 goats in Umoja Cell, Nyamwamba West Division.

As the festive season of Easter draws closer, we kindly appeal to our community in kasese to keep cattle safe by staying vigilant and always report suspicious activities to curb the rising theft of livestock in the Region.
