Kampala Metropolitan Police have intensified their fight against crime with a wave of intelligence-led operations across the city, rounding up dozens of suspects in areas notorious for robbery, theft, and drug-related offenses.

Between October 28 and 29, 2025, joint security teams under KMP South and KMP East carried out coordinated sweeps targeting high-risk zones.
In Kampala Central Division, 40 suspects were arrested from crime black spots known for motor vehicle part theft and street robberies.
In Kira Municipality, covering Kitukutwe, Kiwologoma, Kungu, Buwate, and Najjera, seven individuals were apprehended with suspected narcotics and a toy gun believed to have been used in recent robberies.
Meanwhile, operations in Kajjansi Division saw 45 suspects detained from Ngobe, Sseguku, and Kajjansi over their alleged role in early-morning robberies.
In Mukono, joint forces stormed Kyugu and Kisenyi–Degeya, arresting nine suspects caught with suspected narcotic substances.
All suspects are currently being held at their respective police stations as investigations and screenings continue. Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said the operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore public safety across the city.
He reaffirmed police commitment to maintaining security, warning that similar intelligence-led crackdowns will continue to root out criminal elements from Kampala and its surrounding areas.
