KAMPALA, Uganda: Francesco Arezzo concluded his official visit to Uganda by launching the second mega medical camp organized by the Rotary Club of Medical Stars at the National Medical Stores (NMS) grounds in Kajjansi, Wakiso District.
The medical camp, held on 21 February 2026, marked the second large-scale outreach by the club, following a similar initiative on 28 August 2025. Together, the two camps have served a cumulative total of more than 3,500 patients who received free treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.
Speaking during the event, Rotary Club of Medical Stars President Sheila Nduhukire expressed pride in hosting the Rotary International leader.
“We are proud to host the Rotary International President at our Medical Stars Rotary Club at NMS Kajjansi, where we are holding our second medical camp to offer free medical services to Ugandans who have travelled from across the country. By the close of today, a cumulative total of over 3,500 patients will have accessed free medical services,” said Nduhukire, who also serves as Principal Public Relations Officer at NMS.
Dr. Jotham Musinguzi, Chairperson of the NMS Board of Directors, underscored the significance of the outreach program. He thanked Arezzo for planting a commemorative tree and participating in a polio immunization exercise for children, noting that the gesture symbolized the strong partnership between the Government of Uganda, the Rotary movement in Uganda, and Rotary International.
In his remarks, Arezzo expressed satisfaction with the strength and impact of Rotary’s work in Uganda.
He noted that the projects he visited were people-centered and impactful at the grassroots level. He pledged to continue strengthening ties with Uganda to advance the mission of the global Rotary movement.
The medical camp provided essential services including general medical consultations, specialist care, immunization, and health education—bringing critical healthcare closer to communities and reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to service above self.
