According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred at around 6:00 PM on Monday at Mukyitenge Village, Hamurwa Sub-county, along the Kabale–Kisoro Road in Rubanda District.

Speaking on the incident, Nelson Tumushime, SP, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, urged road users to exercise greater caution while using the roads.
“We continue to urge all road users to observe speed limits and strictly adhere to the Highway Code. Excessive speed remains one of the leading causes of fatal road crashes. Motorists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians must respect one another and prioritize safety at all times,” said SP Nelson Tumushime.
Police have reiterated their call for responsible road usage, emphasizing the need for vigilance, patience, and compliance with traffic regulations to prevent avoidable loss of life.
