Tragedy struck in Kitaka Zone, Busega, within the Rubaga Division of Kampala District, as three siblings have been confirmed dead due to suspected suffocation following a devastating fire. Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan area, reported that the blaze erupted at the residence of Arnest Mugerwa and was initially brought to the attention of police by Moreen Nakimera.
Although police from Nateete Division arrived quickly on the scene, the fire had already been extinguished by local residents.
Unfortunately, three siblings including a three-year-old lost their lives from carbon monoxide suffocation.
The victims have been identified as 11-year-old Danila Nalukwago, 6-year-old Darius Lukwago, and 3-year-old Diego Muwanguzi.
Owoyesigyire also mentioned that two their father Arnest Mugerwa and his other son Marvin Mugerwa, were rescued and are now receiving medical care at Mulago Hospital.
The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
