Kigali, Rwanda — The Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS), Mrs. Goretti Masadde, has been honored among Africa’s 100 Most Influential Women for 2025, a prestigious recognition that celebrates her visionary leadership, innovation, and transformative impact in Uganda’s financial sector.
As the first female CEO of UIBFS, Mrs. Masadde has redefined leadership through a blend of purpose, inclusion, and innovation. Her career is marked by many firsts—she was Uganda’s first female brewer and the first female President of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), inspiring a new generation of women leaders, three of whom have since followed in her footsteps at PRAU.

Under her dynamic stewardship, UIBFS has experienced a profound transformation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the Institute’s rapid shift to digital learning, earning national recognition from the National Council for Higher Education.
She also spearheaded a comprehensive organizational restructuring and rebranding exercise, revitalizing the Institute’s identity and positioning UIBFS as Uganda’s premier training hub for the banking and financial services sector.
A passionate advocate for sustainability, Mrs. Masadde has integrated green and climate finance into banking education, developing the Green Finance Curriculum in partnership with aBi Finance, and introducing ESG-focused training programs.
Her commitment to climate-conscious leadership earned her the Inaugural Danish Embassy Green Excellence Award in 2024.
She is also the force behind the Banking and Financial Services Awareness Month (BAFSAM)—now in its sixth season—a nationwide campaign that unites key players across Uganda’s financial ecosystem to promote financial literacy and inclusion. The initiative reflects her belief in the power of cross-sector collaboration to create lasting community impact.
The African Women Awards, organized by The Business Executive magazine in Ghana, annually recognize 100 exceptional women shaping Africa’s progress across diverse fields. This year, Mrs. Masadde stands proudly among them—honored for her outstanding contributions to Uganda’s economy and her transformative leadership at UIBFS.
