Entebbe International Airport recorded its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic in July 2025, handling a total of 230,577 passengers, according to data from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).
The figures include 119,127 arriving and 111,450 departing passengers, averaging 7,437 travellers per day.
This surpasses the airport’s previous monthly record set in December 2024, when 222,301 passengers passed through the facility.
The spike in passenger numbers has been attributed to several key factors, including the influx of delegations for the postponed CHAN 2024 football tournament, heightened international tourism campaigns, a busy schedule of international conferences, and improved airline connectivity to and from Uganda.
In addition to the rise in passenger traffic, the airport also reported robust cargo movement in July, with a total of 5,863 metric tonnes processed.
This included 3,961 tonnes of exports and 1,902 tonnes of imports, reflecting sustained growth in Uganda’s air freight sector.
Officials say the continued uptick in both passenger and cargo traffic signals a strong recovery and expansion of Uganda’s aviation and tourism sectors post-pandemic.
