COURT (UGNEWSLINE) – Former Owino Market Chairperson and Kampala businesswoman Susan Kushaba has been remanded to Luzira Prison until November 17, 2026, over allegations of publishing false and distressing statements against Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda and State Minister Joseph Kabuye Kyofatogabye on TikTok.
Kushaba was remanded by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Rita Neumbe Kidasa after appearing in court and pleading guilty to the charges.
She had appeared before court following summons issued yesterday and applied for bail. However, Senior State Attorney Allan Mucunguzi opposed her immediate release, asking for more time to respond to the application and verify the authenticity of documents presented by her sureties.
The magistrate subsequently remanded her to allow the prosecution to verify the documents and respond to the bail application.
The 46-year-old, who resides in Namugongo Butto Zone, Kira Municipality in Mukono District, faces three counts of sending false distressing statements against government officials.
Prosecution alleges that between January and October 2026, Kushaba used the TikTok account @The Investigator UG to publish videos containing false allegations against the ministers and another individual.
In one of the videos, she allegedly described Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda Nabbengo as a fraudster and land grabber.
Another video allegedly accused State Minister Joseph Kabuye Kyofatogabye of being a fraudster who embezzled money collected from boda boda riders and taxi operators in Kampala.
The third video allegedly accused a man identified as Katumba Muzamir Milundi of grabbing land belonging to Kamwokya KCCA Primary School.
