KAMPALA– Travellers at Namayiba Bus Park were treated to a delightful surprise on Thursday 22 May 2025, as Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda brought joy and refreshment to passengers through its ongoing “Share a Coke” campaign.

As part of the activation, Coca-Cola shared personalized soda bottles with passengers boarding various buses, including those headed to Kenya, Gulu, Juba, and Somalia. Buses operated by Bebeto and other companies participated in the initiative.

The campaign, which features bottles labeled with popular Ugandan names, sparked widespread excitement among travellers, many of whom were visibly thrilled to find their own names or those of loved ones on the bottles.

“The moment someone received a bottle, their face lit up with a smile,” said Ajala Joel, one of the passengers.

“My neighbor received a bottle labeled ‘Ronah’ and said it felt like getting a message from her sister. It was beautiful.”

Jimmy Ogwal, General Manager of Mega Buses at Namayiba Bus Park, praised the initiative, calling it a heartfelt surprise for their customers.

“You’ve truly surprised us. The passengers are excited not just about the refreshing taste, but also because the bottles have their names on them,” he said. “I saw a lady jump in excitement after receiving a bottle labeled ‘Patricia’ it turned out to be her name.”

Miriam Atiku, a passenger headed to Juba, was thrilled to find her name on a bottle. She said she wouldn’t drink it until she reached home so her family could see it.

“I’m taking it all the way to Juba so my family can witness this. It’s not every day you find your name on a Coke bottle,” she shared.

Victor, a regular Coke consumer traveling to Gulu, expressed his appreciation. “For years I’ve bought Coke daily, and today it feels like the company is giving back. I feel appreciated.”

Etoo Christina, a staff member at Bebeto Bus Company, also lauded Coca-Cola for the initiative.

“I wish you’d come back tomorrow. Our clients are so happy today! Thank you for maintaining the great taste Coke never disappoints,” she said with enthusiasm.
