KAMPALA, Uganda – Brian Musinguzi Kiyonga, a parliamentary aspirant for Kinkiizi West constituency in Kanungu District, has pledged to prioritize youth empowerment and infrastructure development if elected to Parliament.
Speaking shortly after collecting his nomination papers from the NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kyadondo, Musinguzi expressed concern that the residents of Kinkiizi West have not fully benefited from government programs due to what he termed as ineffective leadership. He vowed to lobby for partnerships and funding to boost economic empowerment initiatives targeting the youth.
“If entrusted with the mandate, I will work tirelessly to attract strategic partners who can support programs in agriculture, education, healthcare, and road infrastructure,” Musinguzi said.
He also pointed to the relative development in neighboring districts such as Kabale, Rukiga, Kisoro, and Rukungiri, stressing that Kanungu has lagged behind. Musinguzi promised to change this narrative by engaging all stakeholders to uplift the district’s development and improve the welfare of its residents.
Musinguzi is seeking to replace the outgoing Member of Parliament, James Kaberuka.
