Police in Seeta have launched a murder investigation following the killing of a radiography specialist who was attacked as he returned home in Mukono Municipality. The victim, Dr. Peter Mubiru, who worked at Happy Doctor Clinic in Seeta, was assaulted on the evening of April 19, 2026, in Bagala Zone, Goma Division.
In a statement issued by Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, the deceased was attacked by unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle at around 7:00pm, in what investigators believe was an aggravated robbery.
Dr. Mubiru sustained severe head injuries during the incident and was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala, where he was later pronounced dead. In the days following the incident, security agencies conducted intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of four suspects believed to be connected to the attack. The suspects have been identified as Mususwa Abubaker, Olowo Joshua, Muyanja George, and Basibu Umar.
Authorities say investigations remain ongoing, with detectives working to recover key evidence and complete a postmortem examination to aid the case. Police have indicated that more details will be released as inquiries continue.
