East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing safe surgery in Uganda by pledging 30,000 pairs of surgical gloves to the Association of Surgeons of Uganda (ASOU) in support of the 2026 Annual Surgical Camp.

The donation reflects EAMV’s continued investment in strengthening Uganda’s healthcare system and improving access to safe, quality surgical care.

The commitment was announced by EAMV Managing Director, Mr Brian Kavuya, during the ASOU Annual Surgical Camp Fundraising Dinner held at Hotel Africana in Kampala. During his address, he reaffirmed EAMV’s enduring partnership with Uganda’s surgical fraternity and the company’s shared vision of expanding access to safe, quality surgical services across the country.

This latest contribution builds on EAMV’s longstanding support for ASOU initiatives. In 2025, the company donated 2,800 pairs of sterile surgical gloves to the Annual Surgical Camp. Earlier this year, EAMV also partnered with ASOU during the Annual Surgeons Conference, where it engaged with healthcare professionals and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening surgical care in Uganda.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Brian Kavuya emphasized that the company’s relationship with the Association of Surgeons of Uganda goes beyond sponsorship.

“Our partnership with Uganda’s surgical fraternity is built on a shared purpose of delivering safer surgery and better patient outcomes. As Uganda’s local manufacturer of surgical gloves, we remain committed to providing healthcare professionals with high-quality products that enable them to save lives safely and confidently.”

He further commended the Association of Surgeons of Uganda for its leadership in organizing the annual surgical camp and recognized the invaluable contribution of sponsors, volunteers, and development partners whose collective support continues to expand access to life-changing surgical care for thousands of Ugandans.

Speaking on behalf of ASOU, the Association’s President, Dr Kakungulu acknowledged that the consistent support of partners such as EAMV has enabled the organization to successfully deliver its programmes year after year. He added that the upcoming surgical camp in the greater Buganda region will be transformative for thousands of patients and called upon the public to support and participate in the initiative.

Scheduled for September 2026, the Annual surgical Camp will provide more than 3,500 free surgical procedures to patients across the greater Buganda region, delivering life-changing healthcare to communities that would otherwise have limited access to specialized surgical services.

EAMV’s donation will help ensure that surgeons have the essential protective equipment required to carry out these procedures safely and effectively the donation further demonstrates EAMV’s unwavering commitment to investing in Uganda’s healthcare sector and its belief in the power of strategic local partnerships to improve outcomes. By manufacturing high-quality medical consumables locally, EAMV continues to strengthen the resilience, reliability, and sustainability of medical device supply across Uganda and the wider and the wider East Africa region supporting healthcare professionals with products they can trust while contributing to improved healthcare outcomes for millions of people.
