BUSIA District– The Miss Tourism Uganda regional search continued its nationwide tour over the weekend, making a vibrant stop in the Eastern Region.
Held at the scenic Majik Resort in Busia District, the event saw the region confirm its three representatives ahead of the national finale, slated for September 5, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Emerging victorious was 21-year-old Amali Phiona Rhoda from Tororo District, who took home the crown as Miss Tourism Eastern Uganda.
Her confidence, eloquence, and grasp of tourism promotion set her apart during the contest. Although she does not fit conventional beauty stereotypes, Amali’s win sparked online conversations, with some social media users expressing surprise at the results. Nonetheless, judges praised her for excelling in all aspects of the competition.
Rounding out the top three were Khaitsa Mary and Maka Asha, who were named first and second runners-up, respectively.
The well-coordinated event highlighted the growing recognition of Eastern Uganda’s cultural and tourism potential.
With the region’s finalists now confirmed, the race for the national crown is heating up.
