Formidables Swim Club to Host Uganda’s Biggest Masters Swimming Gala

The Formidables Swim Club has announced its inaugural Formidables Swim Gala, happening on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at Waves Fitness Harbour on Ntinda–Kiwatule Road. This family-friendly, high-energy event is open to all and promises a thrilling blend of elite swimming competition and lively entertainment.

With over 350 athletes expected from 8 Masters swim teams across East Africa, this will be the biggest Masters swimming event Uganda has seen to date. The event will feature over 200 swimmers competing in 35+ categories, showcasing top-notch swimming prowess and thrilling races.

The gala will start from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by an electrifying after-party featuring performances by the dopest DJs, a tropical cocktail bar, and a sizzling BBQ experience, making it a perfect outing for families, fitness enthusiasts, and party lovers alike.

“Our club is about perfecting technique, fostering community, and having fun,” said Peter Ssebanakitta, Captain of Formidables Swim Club. “This event is not just a competition—it’s a celebration of fitness, family, and friendship. Whether you swim, cheer, or just come to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s a place for you.”

Louis David Wolimbwa, Head Coach of Formidables Swim Club, added: “Our athletes have trained rigorously for this meet, and we anticipate a day full of record-breaking performances and unforgettable memories. It’s a chance to witness East Africa’s Masters swimmers at their very best.”

The Formidables Swim Club started in 2018, founded by a passionate group of swimmers at Nob View Hotel and has since grown into a vibrant, award-winning club affiliated with Uganda Aquatics.
