Ugandans continued to crown Indomie as their favorite noodle brand, earning it the top spot in the Instant Noodles category for the third consecutive year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
While receiving the prestigious award, Kennedy Omondi, the Principal of Indomie Uganda, expressed gratitude to Ugandans for their continued trust. He pledged to consistently deliver the highest quality products.
“We really thank Uganda for the award, as you see, it is People’s Choice Award, they are the ones who have decided that we are the best and we thank them. We don’t know really how to thank them but the best way to thank them is just to give them quality, availability and accessibility to the product all time.” He said.
Mr. Omondi emphasized that their journey to this milestone has been built on unwavering consistency in quality. He noted that this commitment has earned the trust of Ugandans, who continue to see value in their products and have chosen Indomie as their favorite noodle brand.
“There’s consistency in terms of quality, because at the end of the day, the person who will test Indomie in Kenya will have the same test in Uganda, will have the same test in Indonesia, will have the same test in South Africa, will have the same test in Egypt, like it’s a worldwide product, so we have to give it at most quality, and we don’t compromise on that and as we give quality, also we try our level best to make sure that we are put into consideration the pockets of the common buyers or consumers, so we make sure that the product is available and also affordable without compromising quality.” Kennedy Omondi added.
He pledged to continue providing Ugandans with high-quality products at affordable prices. He also assured that, with the support of their distributor, Dembe Distributors, they would ensure the availability of Indomie products to serve every Ugandan.
“The best that we can always do is to give Uganda quality as Indomie Uganda. We must give Uganda quality. We must give Uganda affordability. And at most, we must give Uganda accessibility to the product and availability” he said.
In her message, delivered by Hon. Betty Amongi, the Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, Vice President Jessica Alupo expressed her gratitude to manufacturers and producers for their ongoing efforts toward the development of Uganda.
She urged them to focus on improving quality in order to expand their reach and opportunities.
“For our manufacturing sector to grow bigger and better and for the made in Uganda brand to expand its horizon, we must, both as the private sector and government as well as government partners, be deliberate about improving quality of products and services.” She said
She praised the organizers of the People’s Choice Awards, noting that it is a great initiative that allows brands to receive valuable feedback from the people they serve. She encouraged them to take this feedback seriously and not take it for granted.
