Uganda’s school-going youth enjoyed a vibrant holiday season as Kiromo took its youth-focused experience to Kampala, Fort Portal and Jinja, bringing together large crowds for music, talent, fashion, games and inter-school competitions.
The three-city tour, held from August 28 to September 5, gave teenagers and young people an opportunity to socialise, have fun with their peers and showcase their talents in a series of entertainment and school-based activities.
The tour kicked off in Kampala on Friday, August 28, with the Holiday Kadanke at Sharing Hall in Nsambya.
The venue was filled with teenagers who turned up for an evening of music and entertainment, with performances by artists, DJs and MCs adding to the excitement.
Games, dancing and other activities kept the crowd engaged throughout the event, setting the tone for the experiences that followed in Fort Portal and Jinja.
Fort Portal crowns youth champions
The Kiromo team then travelled to Fort Portal City on Sunday, August 30, for the hi Skool Kiromo All Schools Grand Finale and Color Fest at New Fort View.
The event brought together students from several schools who competed in a range of activities while showcasing their talents, creativity and confidence.
One of the major highlights was the crowning of Fort Portal’s Mr and Miss High School and Mr and Miss Teen.
The winners were:
Miss High School – Fort Portal City: Kemigisha Doreen, Mpanga SS
Mr High School – Fort Portal City: Musinguzi Shafic, Fort Portal SS
Miss Teen – Fort Portal City: Komuhendo Prishillar, King of Kings High School
Mr Teen – Fort Portal City: Musana Ramadhan, King of Kings High School
The competitions were followed by the Color Fest, where students joined in the colourful celebrations as DJs, MCs and performers entertained the crowd.
The Fort Portal stop combined competition and entertainment, giving students an opportunity to celebrate their schools, interact with peers and express themselves in a lively holiday setting.
Jinja students showcase their talents
The final stop was Jinja City on Saturday, September 5, where Kingfisher hosted the hi Skool Kiromo All Schools Grand Finale.
Students from different schools competed in dance, rap, modelling and singing, turning the event into a showcase of youthful creativity and confidence.
The competitions culminated in the crowning of Jinja’s Mr and Miss High School and Mr and Miss Teen.

Miss High School – Jinja City: Kisakye Evelyn, PMM Girls
Mr High School – Jinja City: Babiga Mwene, Busoga College–Mwiri
Miss Teen – Jinja City: Ainembabazi Patience, St. Joseph’s Nakanyonyi
Mr Teen – Jinja City: Asuman Lyagoba, Jinja SS
After the crowning ceremony, the event transitioned into the Color Fest, with music, performances and entertainment keeping students on their feet.
Entertainment drives the experience
The atmosphere across the three cities was energised by a team of entertainers led by MC Ollo, alongside Clinton, DJ Mayson, MC Jace, Sham Love and other DJs, MCs and performers.
Beyond keeping the crowds entertained, the team helped connect with the young audiences and give each city’s event its own character.
Although the activities varied across the three locations, the central focus remained the same: creating a space where teenagers and students could have fun, compete, build confidence and express themselves.
Mirinda backs youth-focused experience
The tour was powered by Mirinda through its “Sip a Mirinda, Spread the Smile” campaign, with Sumz Snacks and Indomie Noodles also supporting the events.
The partnership brought together entertainment and youth engagement, creating platforms where students could celebrate their schools, interact with fellow young people and showcase their talents.
Kiromo wraps up three-city holiday tour
From the opening Holiday Kadanke in Kampala to the school competitions and Color Fests in Fort Portal and Jinja, Kiromo’s three-city tour delivered a holiday experience centred on entertainment, competition and self-expression.
The events also provided young people with opportunities to step into the spotlight, with winners earning recognition after being crowned their cities’ Mr or Miss High School or Teen.
With music, colour and youthful energy defining the celebrations, Kiromo concluded its holiday tour after taking its youth-focused experience to three of Uganda’s major cities.
