The minister of state for microfinance Haruna Kasolo has directed the deputy RCC Rubaga division to immediately arrest and prosecute of all Emyooga fund defaulters within the division saying the act frustrates other beneficiaries.
He made the remarks during his Emyooga verification exercise tour in Rubaga division. The meeting brought together over 600 division leaders and beneficiaries among others.
He said that reports from the division town clerk had suggested that some beneficiaries had deliberately defaulted on returning the Emyooga funds to benefit other members which incident retards the progress of the program.
He ordered the division Deputy RCC Henry Kitambula to collaborate with the town clerk on this mater.
He also threatened to publish the list in the media to name and shame defaulters.
In his remarks, deputy RCC Henry Kitambula thanked the government for the Emyooga program saying it has empowered many small holder business people to increase on their household incomes.
