Police Constable No. 55295 Alex Adei is currently in custody at Jinja Road Police Station, facing murder charges related to the deaths of two individuals: Babra Kongai, aged 32, and Police Constable No. 69923 Tusiime Seeze.
The incident took place on September 29, 2024 around 8:00 PM at the Ntinda Police Barracks.
Reports suggest that PC Adei entered Babra Kongai’s home and opened fire on PC Tusiime, who was present at the time.
He then shot at Kongai as she attempted to escape.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan area, Adei fled the scene but was later captured by fellow police officers.
Initial investigations reveal that Adei and Kongai were formerly married but had separated due to domestic conflicts.
The police have also managed to recover the weapon used in the shooting, along with 12 rounds of ammunition.
“The bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the City Mortuary at Mulago, and investigations are ongoing. More details will be shared as soon as they are available,” he added.
