Police in Wakiso District have arrested four suspects believed to be behind a string of thefts targeting church property and household electronics.
The arrests came after a break-in at Just Believe Ministries in Nkoowe village, Mende Subcounty, where thieves made off with a public address system.
Acting on a report filed by the church’s pastor, joint operations between Wakiso and Nkoowe Police quickly led investigators to several suspects.
Among those apprehended is Ssekitoleko Ronald, a known repeat offender, along with his alleged accomplices Wejuri Ronald, Ssekajja Robert, and Nabakooza Fatumah. Police say the group was found in possession of several stolen items during coordinated searches carried out in different locations.
Recovered property includes television sets, amplifiers, loudspeakers, sofa sets, microphones, and other electronic equipment believed to have been stolen from various victims across the area.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the arrests, noting that investigations are still underway to trace additional stolen property and identify more victims linked to the theft ring.
