Police in Katwe have disrupted a planned aggravated robbery at a petrol station in Makindye Division, averting what authorities say could have been a violent attack.
The operation unfolded in the early hours of April 27, 2026, at around 9:00am, when officers moved in on Nesta Petrol Station along Salaama Road in Salaama Parish. Acting on intelligence received a day earlier, a police task team quickly mobilized to intercept the suspects before the plan could be executed.
Three individuals were arrested during the operation.

Officers also recovered four pangas believed to have been intended for use in the robbery.
The suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities say more information will be released as inquiries progress.
Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala confirmed the incident, emphasizing that timely intelligence and swift action were key to preventing the crime.
