KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) –Friends of Trinity College Nabbingo have responded to the chaplain’s call to raise funds for the completion of the college’s chapel, generating approximately Shs 450 million.
The fundraising dinner, held at the college’s Mulo Sports Complex, brought together hundreds of guests with strong ties to the institution, which has nurtured thousands of women who are now serving in different professional capacities.
The chief guest at the colourful ceremony, held under the theme “Building Together in Faith,” was veteran Rotarian Dr Emmanuel Katongole, who was represented by the Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Vincent Rogers Kabuye.
Rev. Fr. Kabuye thanked all stakeholders for supporting the chapel construction project through their generous donations.
He said those who chose to support such a prestigious project deserved blessings, adding that Almighty God would reward them abundantly.
Accompanied by the Pastoral Coordinator of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, Rev. Fr. Dr Ambrose Bwangato, he said the chapel would serve as a hub for imparting Christian moral values and providing strategic counselling services to female students.
He added that the students needed spiritual nourishment and guidance as they prepared to become responsible citizens who would make meaningful contributions to society.
The speakers also commended Dr Katongole for playing an instrumental role in mobilising resources from fellow members of the Rotary fraternity. They said his commitment to supporting humanitarian and community-focused projects should be emulated by others.
The college headmistress, Immaculate Nasozi Lwanga, thanked the college’s friends for their generous contributions towards completing the chapel.
She said the fundraising had raised Shs 323.6 million in cash, alongside pledges worth Shs 121 million, bringing the total to Shs 444.6 million towards the Shs 2.5 billion required to complete the project.
She urged those who had not yet made their contributions to do so to ensure that the project is completed on schedule.
