KAMPALA, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi as the new Deputy Chief Justice of Uganda and Her Worship Agnes Alum as the new Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.
The appointments were announced Thursday in a statement issued by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU).
According to the statement, Justice Kazibwe’s name has already been forwarded to Parliament for vetting and approval.
Justice Kazibwe is expected to serve as the head of the Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court in his new role as Deputy Chief Justice.
Agnes Alum takes over as Chief Registrar, a key administrative position within the Judiciary responsible for the day-to-day management of courts and supervision of registrars.
The statement did not indicate when the two appointees will officially assume their new offices.
