The Uganda Police Force (UPF) has launched a manhunt and opened a murder investigation following a shocking incident at Naguru Police Barracks, where a police constable is alleged to have fatally shot a fellow officer.
According to police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma, the deceased, identified as Police Constable Arthur Muhangi, was reportedly gunned down by his colleague, PC Everest Natujuuna, who has since fled the scene.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the shooting,” Kituuma stated.
He confirmed that the suspect abandoned the firearm used in the incident and is currently on the run.
“We can only establish the precise motive and circumstances once we apprehend the suspect,” he added.
The police have urged the public to remain calm as efforts to locate and arrest PC Natujuna intensify.
