EDUCATION : Victoria University has announced 100 fully funded Master’s scholarships for its top-performing graduates from the Class of 2025 under the newly launched Rajiv Memorial Scholarships Programme.
Funded by the Ruparelia Family through the Ruparelia Foundation, the scholarships honour the legacy of the late Rajiv Ruparelia by supporting outstanding graduates to pursue postgraduate studies while contributing to research, innovation, and national development.
According to the Office of the Vice Chancellor, the scholarships are exclusively available to Victoria University graduates from the Class of 2025 who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and exemplary conduct.
To qualify, applicants must have graduated with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.3 or a Second Class Upper degree or above.
Priority will be given to candidates with outstanding final-year research, conference presentations, innovation projects, and a proven record of leadership through student activities, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, or community service.
Applicants must also have secured admission, or be eligible for admission, into a Victoria University Master’s programme and be willing to serve as Research or Tutorial Assistants to support Work Integrated Learning throughout their studies. They must also have a clean disciplinary record with no history of examination malpractice or formal warnings.
Successful scholarship recipients will be required to maintain at least a Second Class Upper CGPA, participate in seminars, workshops, mentorship, outreach, and innovation activities, submit trimester progress reports, and sign the Rajiv Memorial Scholarship contract.
The university noted that scholarship awards may be withdrawn in cases of poor academic performance, academic misconduct, plagiarism, criminal behaviour, prolonged absenteeism, or violation of university policies.
Scholars are expected to complete their Master’s programmes within two academic years and produce dissertations of publishable quality.
Victoria University said the scholarship programme will be implemented with a strong focus on equity, ensuring gender balance, support for students with disabilities, and fair representation across all faculties.
Applicants are required to submit an official application form, a Victoria University admission letter, academic documents, an updated curriculum vitae, a personal statement, and a recommendation letter from their Dean or Head of Department.
Completed applications should be submitted via scholarships@vu.ac.ug no later than 22 July 2026.
The university described the Rajiv Memorial Scholarships as a landmark initiative aimed at nurturing future leaders, researchers, and innovators who will contribute to Uganda’s knowledge economy.
