Uganda’s immigration enforcement officers are holding 48 foreign nationals in Wandegeya who were found to be in the country without valid immigration status.
The individuals, originating from China, Somalia, Sudan, Chad, and South Sudan, are currently being processed for prosecution.
During the same operation, authorities confirmed that 97 other foreign nationals were found to be fully compliant with immigration regulations.
The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control has reiterated its call for all foreign nationals residing in Uganda to ensure their stay is legal.
Those who have not yet done so are encouraged to regularize their immigration status by applying for the necessary permits and passes online at http://visas.immigration.go.ug.
