ENTEBBE, UGANDA – Dr. Hillary Emmanuel Musoke Kisanja, Uganda’s Senior Presidential Advisor on Agribusiness and Value Addition, received a heroic welcome at Entebbe International Airport last evening following his return from the United Kingdom, where he was honoured by the British Parliament for his outstanding contribution to socio-economic development.
Dr. Kisanja was among six distinguished Ugandans recognised by the World Book of Records during a prestigious ceremony held at the British Parliament’s House of Commons, the symbolic heart of democracy in the UK.
He was celebrated for his decades-long efforts in transforming Uganda’s agribusiness sector, championing youth and women empowerment, and promoting value addition as a catalyst for national development.
The ceremony, organised by Lord Raminder Singh Ranger, in partnership with Mr. William Mutenza, a British-Ugandan patriot, and Uganda’s High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Nimisha Madhvani, highlighted Uganda’s growing influence on the global stage through the impact of its reformists and policy leaders.
“I am deeply humbled to receive such a global honour,” Dr. Kisanja said, addressing the media and jubilant supporters upon his arrival. “This award is not for me alone – it is an award for Uganda, for President Museveni, for the youth, for the women, and for every Ugandan working hard to transform our country.
Dr. Kisanja’s recognition came alongside other prominent Ugandan leaders, including Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba, Dr. Edith Nakalema, and Mr. Nelson Tugume, each acknowledged for their roles in advancing Uganda’s socio-economic progress.
A Message to the Youth: “Desist From Misleaders”
Dr. Kisanja used the moment to speak directly to the youth of Uganda and East Africa:
“My message to the young people is simple — work hard and stay consistent. Desist from misleaders and political opportunists who misguide you into destructive paths. I have been consistent in my work for years — from agribusiness to skilling projects, to empowering women and the ghetto youth. I didn’t do it for recognition, but today the world has noticed.”
He cautioned against being swayed by populist narratives, stressing the importance of staying focused on development and innovation. “You may not always be recognised at home,” he added, “but somewhere out there, someone sees your effort. Just like Jesus, who was not praised in his hometown, your good work can still change the world.”
Honoured for Transformative Leadership
The World Book of Records London citation read in part:

According to Mr. Santosh Shukla, CEO of the World Book of Records, the recipients were selected for their “exemplary efforts and commitment to driving Uganda’s socio-economic progress.”

Dr. Kisanja was officially received at the airport by Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, who lauded him for his dedication and work under President Museveni’s leadership.
“We are proud of Dr. Kisanja. The fact that an institution as respected as the UK Parliament has honoured him shows that Uganda’s efforts in development are being noticed internationally. Even when some fail to recognise such efforts locally, the world is watching – and appreciating.”

Throughout his service under the Office of the President, Dr. Kisanja has been a key figure in mobilising and implementing community-based initiatives across Uganda – from farming cooperatives to urban youth empowerment programs. He has championed projects such as Skilling the Girl Child, Artisan Training for Youth, Fishing Community Development, and more.
As the dust settles on this latest recognition, Dr. Kisanja remains focused on the bigger mission: socio-economic transformation in line with President Museveni’s strategic vision for Uganda and Africa.
